Is the Order a Kind of Religion ?

Our Order is totally independent from any religion

The following sentence is extracted from the Knight's oath :

... I promise to respect the Faith of others so that they respect mine... !



However, the respect of other´s beliefs HAS ITS LIMITS in order not to become a weakness. This respect will not apply to sectarian, absolutist, expansionist, barbaric (violating Human Rights) beliefs, as well as to persons frequenting recognised sectarian beliefs organisations.

Our Impétrants (future Knights), are Knighted in a church (without religious service) or in all other places related to the Knighthood (Chapel, Castle, Abbey, etc,.). They take oath on the Magisterial Sword and on the Constitution of our Order.

Privacy Right of Cult and Beliefs.

The Ordo Balliolensis is very aware that more than 80% of all conflicts, wars, and atrocities throughout the history of humanity, have been ostensibly for religious and ideological reasons. They have brought behind them, and for centuries, the disastrous cortege of deep miseries, indescribable injustices, incessant calumnies, and innumerable manipulations. The knowledge of the ancient civilizations, Egyptian, Greek, and Roman, were suppressed just to ensure the legitimacy of their dogmas. Let's compare the architectures of the Roman cities and villages with those of the Middle Ages in West Europa, and all is said !. Even a quick look at the today’s War zones of the World will give the observer “a” certain picture of what is really going on.

In consequence, although the Order respects the belief of its Active Members, it will never tolerate that these beliefs, being them religious, philosophical or political, be discussed openly in the frame of the Ordo Balliolensis activities, in the wide sense of the term !

This means that the beliefs of our Active Members must be experienced solely internally and never openly. The Order will not accept to be the stage and its Members to be bothered by religious or political debates and/arguments put forward by people not respecting this Ordinance. No propaganda is allowed. This is also extended to commercial finalities.

Is the Order a Sect ?

-  The Criteria of "harmfulness",

-  The "Rupture with the reality",

-  The "Autocratic" Power,

-  The "Coefficient of isolation of the society or from other similar organisations".

-  The quest for financial power.

None of those characteristics is present in our organisation. The Ordo Balliolensis is thus not a sect and will never be one, being it religious, mystical, esoteric, or spiritualistic. In our Order, the Magisterial Council conducts all business : that means that all decisions are collegial. The Magisterial Council is submitted to the control and decisions of the General Convent that takes place once a year.

It is excluded that one individual, whoever he is, takes control of the Order to make it the object of his fantasies or lunacies. However, as in every association, a risk exists that one individual would try to become the only master on board. To prevent that, all decisions taken within the Councils (Masterly, Big Priories or Priories) as well as in the General Convents, are collegial.

Der Respekt vor den Überzeugungen anderer HAT SEINE GRENZEN, um nicht zur Schwäche zu werden. Er gilt nicht für sektiererische, absolutistische, expansionistische, barbarische (menschenrechts-verletzende) Überzeugungen sowie für Personen, die anerkannte Organisationen mit sektenartigen Überzeugungen aufsuchen.

Unserer Impetranten (zukünftige Ritter) werden Zum Ritter geschlagen. (In einer Kirche, ohne Gottesdienst, oder an allen anderen Orten). Sie schwören sie auf das Ordensschwert und die Verfassung unseres Ordens.

Recht auf Privatsphäre in Bezug auf Kulte und Glaubensrichtungen.
Der Ordo Balliolensis ist sich bewusst, dass mehr als 80% aller Konflikte, Kriege und Gräueltaten in der Geschichte der Menschheit angeblich aus religiösen und ideologischen Gründen geführt wurden. Sie haben jahrhundertelang einen verheerenden Zug von tiefem Elend, unbeschreiblichen Ungerechtigkeiten, unaufhörlichen Verleumdungen und zahllosen Manipulationen hinter sich gebracht. Das Wissen der alten Zivilisationen, der Ägypter, Griechen und Römer, wurde unterdrückt, um die Legitimität ihrer Dogmen zu gewährleisten. Vergleichen wir die Architekturen der römischen Städte und Dörfer mit denen des Mittelalters in Westeuropa, und alles ist gesagt! Selbst ein kurzer Blick auf die heutigen Kriegsgebiete der Welt gibt dem Betrachter ein gewisses Bild von dem, was wirklich vor sich geht.

Folglich wird der Orden, obwohl er den Glauben seiner aktiven Mitglieder respektiert, niemals dulden, dass diese Überzeugungen, seien sie religiös, philosophisch oder politisch, im Rahmen der Aktivitäten des Ordo Balliolensis im weitesten Sinne des Wortes offen diskutiert werden!
 

Ist der Orden eine Sekte ?

-  Die Kriterien von "Schädlichkeit,"

-  Der "Bruch mit der Realität",

-  Die "autokratische" Macht,

-  Der "Koeffizient von Isolierung der Gesellschaft oder von anderen ähnlichen Organisationen",

-  Die Suche nach finanzieller Macht.

Keines dieser Merkmale ist anwesend in unserer Organisation. Der Ordo Balliolensis ist deshalb keine Sekte und wird nie eine sein, sei sie religiös, mystisch, esoterisch oder spiritistisch.

In unserem Orden leitet der Ordensrat alle Geschäfte: das bedeutet, dass alle Entscheidungen kollegial sind. Der Ordensrat unterliegt der Kontrolle und den Entscheidungen der Vollversammlung, die einmal im Jahr stattfindet.

Es ist somit ausgeschlossen, dass eine Person, wer sie auch sei, die Kontrolle über den Orden übernimmt oder ihn zum Objekt seiner persönlichen Vorstellungen zu machen. Wie in jedem Verband existiert jedoch ein Risiko, wonach eine Person versuchen könnte, der einzige Meister an Bord zu werden. Um das zu verhindern, sind alle Entscheidungen, sowohl die der Räte (Orden, Großpriorate oder Priorate) als auch die der Vollversammlungen, kollegial.
