A General Convent Decree (GCD), voted several years ago, makes it possible for anybody (older than 18 years old), even not bearing a Patronymic linked to our Dynasty, to join our Knight Order.

Since these Members will also, in a certain way, represent our Dynasty, the potential candidates will easily understand that our selection criteria are very hard. And they are indeed ! As said previously, our Order is only accessible to an Elite. We consider as an Elite the High Human Qualities and inner Values of the Member and not, as in our society, his nobility title, academic title, military rank, educational, financial, or relational status. The following adage and verified in the world of Chivalry :

"The Prince and his Gardener are equal,

if both are Knights"

There is no place in the world of Chivalry for the regulations so dear to some nations regarding "Fraternization". Let those who are compelled to follow them, know that they will have to put them away in the oubliettes once they enter “our” world ! This rule has no exceptions and is well known and applied by all.

It is our Magisterial Council (MC) who decides in full sovereignty on who is allowed to join the Order and who is not. The MC, having its own criteria, will never have to justify its decision. The candidate who is not allowed to join our Order should ask himself some pertinent questions on his behaviour and overall attitude before criticising our decision. Our decision is always taken with impartiality but very consequently !

The candidate, who has the green light, will then join our Order under the same conditions and will have the same prerogatives as any other person belonging to the Dynasty. However, certain rules and prerogatives relating to the granting of hereditary fiefs, seigniories and high seigniories, as well as certain elements of the coat of arms and the use of certain titles of nobility, must, according to the Law, be respected and applied. There are no exceptions to these rules.

As in any Traditional Knight Order, the candidate will have to study the articles of our Statutes, our Statuary Documents and some other Documents. The candidate will also have to study the history of the big Knight Orders created at the time of the Crusades, (s)he shall have a clear overview of the major Western Europe and Middle East historical events, ranging from the lower till the upper Middle Ages.

He or she will, of course, be instructed of the unique history of our 1058-year-old (in anno 2018) Dynasty and about the 1733-year-old Bels Lineage. See the "Essay on the Bels-Belle (Balliol) Dynasty".

Eine Verfügung des Generalkonvents legte vor mehreren Jahren fest, dass es im Prinzip für jedermann (älter als 18 Jahre alt) möglich ist, unserem Ritterorden beizutreten, selbst wenn er kein Patronymikon trägt, das ihn mit unserer Dynastie verbindet.

Da unsere Mitglieder auch auf eine gewisse Weise unsere Dynastie repräsentieren, werden die potentiellen Kandidaten leicht verstehen, dass unsere Auswahlkriterien sehr hart sein müssen. Und sie sind es wirklich! Wie zuvor schon gesagt wurde, ist unser Orden nur zugänglich für eine Elite. Wir betrachten als Elite die hohen menschlichen Qualitäten und die inneren Werte des Mitglieds und nicht seinen Adelstitel, akademischen Titel, militärischen Rang, sein Bildungsniveau oder seinen finanziellen Status.



Es ist unser Ordenskonvent, der allein entscheidet, wer dem Orden beitreten darf und wer nicht. Der Ordenskonvent, der seine eigenen Kriterien hat, muss seine Entscheidung nie rechtfertigen. Der Kandidat, der unserem Orden nicht beitreten darf, sollte sich einige relevante Fragen zu seinem Verhalten und seiner allgemeinen Einstellung stellen, bevor er unsere Entscheidung kritisiert. Entscheidung, die immer mit Unparteilichkeit aber sehr konsequent getroffen wird !

Der Kandidat, der grünes Licht bekommt, schließt sich dann unserem Orden an unter genau den selben Bedingungen und hat die selben Vorrechte wie jede andere Person, die zur Dynastie gehört.

Wie in jedem traditionellen Ritterorden, muss der Kandidat die Artikel unserer Verfassung, unserer Statuten und einiger anderer Dokumente studieren. Der Kandidat muss auch die Geschichte von den zur Zeit der Kreuzzüge geschaffenen großen Ritterorden studieren, er/sie soll einen klaren Überblick über die großen historischen Ereignisse in Westeuropa und dem Nahen Osten zur Zeit des Mittelalters haben.

Er oder sie wird natürlich von der einzigartigen Geschichte unserer 1058-jährigen Dynastie (im Jahr 2018) und 1733-jähringe Bels Abstammung informiert. (Aufsatz über die Bels-Belle-Balliol-Dynastie).
